Schierling
As the most southern town in the Oberpfalz region, Schierling represents an interface to Niederbayern. With a good mix of old buildings and modern constructions, the city is very impressive. The city's closeness to nature and the colorful, diverse neighborhoods truly makes a difference. With its central location, it is also possible to visit the surrounding cities like Landshut, Regensburg and Straubing.

Schierling is one of the most important industrial locations in Bavaria.
Napoleon and his allies once won the Battle of Eggmühl against Austria at the gates of Schierling. The town has interesting places, such as the castle Schierling, the castle Eggmühl or the so-called Bockerlbahn, the historic local train Schierling - Langquaid.
Our workplaces in Schierling
The plant in Schierling, with a total area of 45,000 m², was established over 30 years ago and is the global competence center for battery development at Webasto. The plant also produces roof systems in addition to battery systems. As in other German locations, only electricity from renewable energy sources is used here, a part of which is supplied by the company's own 4,000 square meter photovoltaic system. The energy concept also includes a battery storage system with a capacity of one megawatt per hour, for which 30 second-life batteries are reused.
Testing to the limit
Highly automated processes such as PC multi-component injection molding for large parts or battery production with welding robots, milling centers and complete battery assemblyare installed in our plant in Schierling. Our prototypes are tested thoroughly before they go into series production and will be sold worldwide.

Connection of our location
Thanks to its close distance to the highway, the location is very easy to reach from other Webasto sites. Furthermore, our competence center is also very easy to reach from the surrounding area.
