Joint solutions for the electrification of vehicles

When electrifying commercial and special vehicles as well as construction and agricultural machinery, Webasto keeps an eye on the entire vehicle system. The aim is joint planning and implementation in which all parties involved combine their expertise.

Planning phase

In the planning phase, Webasto takes a close look at the requirements for the vehicle and provides support in simulating optimum application scenarios.

Project phase

During the project phase, Webasto provides support with technical expertise and additional services, such as integration support, technical training and on-site support.

End-of-life-phase

Together with our recycling partner cylib, we work to direct end-of-life batteries and battery production waste into dedicated recycling processes. The aim is to recover raw materials such as lithium and graphite for further use in value chains.

Holistic view of system requirements

By using system simulations, Webasto offers optimum transparency and advice even before the project is implemented. Webasto carries out a comprehensive simulation of the system, taking into account aspects such as battery configuration, ambient conditions and operating strategies. In this way, a system tailored to individual needs is offered - adapted to the specific application, including battery, vehicle heating and cooling systems.

Development and commissioning

By choosing a Webasto battery system, customers benefit from the comprehensive support of our electrification experts. They actively guide the integration process and work closely with the customer during implementation. After successful integration, the vehicle is jointly inspected and approved for commissioning.

Technical training for customers

The battery is the heart and also the most complex and cost-intensive component of an electric vehicle. That is why the battery experts from Webasto offer both technical product training and sales-specific training to build up shared knowledge.

Battery production with foresight

Battery production with foresight

At Webasto’s plant in Schierling, near Regensburg, up to 100,000 battery systems can be produced per year. Electricity from renewable energy sources as well as an on-site photovoltaic system are used for the plant’s energy supply.

In addition, Webasto is working on solutions to extend the service life of batteries. One example is the development of an energy storage system consisting of more than 500 second-life battery modules with a capacity of around one megawatt-hour at a Webasto site.
