More travel comfort with new air heaters and optimized air conditioning from Webasto
The expert for heating and cooling is expanding its air heating range with two new devices. In addition, the Cool Top Trail air conditioning system has a flatter indoor unit and can now also be operated while riding. The solutions can be seen at booth 13A60 as well as in operation in a Rocket One S camper on the FG 13-02 open-air site.
Stockdorf – July 2, 2026 – Developed with the highest quality standards, the latest Webasto air heater Air Top Pro 25 is now available from specialist retailers (RRP: 1,182 euros incl. VAT). The heater impresses above all with its wide range of heating power: with a maximum of 2.5 kilowatts (kW), it heats vehicle interiors particularly quickly. If the device runs at the lowest partial load level of 0.7 kW to maintain the temperature reached, it works whisper-quietly. Continuous switching on and off is no longer necessary, which is a significant gain in comfort, especially for a good night's sleep.
The new brushless motor concept increases durability and efficiency compared to the predecessor model Air Top 2000 STC. Diesel, gasoline and HVO are possible fuels. Automatic altitude adjustment up to 5,500 metres ensures reliable operation even at higher altitudes than those of the Alps. Installation can be carried out both in the vehicle and underfloor, which creates valuable storage or installation space.
Air Top Pro 25 can be controlled via various Webasto control elements, including the ThermoConnect app. In addition, integration into existing vehicle systems via LIN, CAN and CI-Bus is possible. Interfaces already exist, for example, to systems from E-T-A, Inomatic and AL-KO. With all its features, Air Top Pro 25 sets new standards in technology, reliability and efficiency in the class of compact air heaters.
Air Top Go 20: high quality on a budget
For price-conscious users and lower heating requirements, the Air Top Go 20 air heater, which is also new, offers many of the functions of the Air Top Pro 25. The device has identical dimensions and uses the same motor concept as well as the same Webasto controls, including the app. However, communication takes place exclusively via the W-Bus interface. The heating capacity is between 1.0 and 2.0 kW (boost mode), and diesel/HVO is used as fuel.
"We have also developed and tested the Air Top Go 20 with great care and placed particular emphasis on details when selecting the components," says Joerg Hornung, Vice President Aftermarket at Webasto. "It is important to us to also offer campers with compact vehicles or individual conversions a heater in proven Webasto quality."
This air heater will be available from September and is also offered as a complete package including dosing pump, standard installation kit, rotary selector and documentation. Pricing information to follow.
Both heaters meet the functional safety requirements according to ISO 26262, are developed and produced in Germany and are protected against cyber attacks according to ISO 21434 and certified accordingly.
Optimized air conditioning systems for stationary and driving operation
In Duesseldorf, Webasto will be presenting the Cool Top Trail rooftop air conditioners as a VN version for the first time. These work with the efficient refrigerant R32, and a newly developed indoor unit that is narrower, shorter and flatter than in previous models. Thanks to its compact design, it is now increasingly finding its place in narrow passageways and in front of doors. At the same time, the weight of the entire system is noticeably reduced, in the case of the 28VN model even by almost four kilograms (kg) to a net 31 kg.
At market launch, the 28VN and 36VN variants will be available. The important advantages like variable speed compressors, high energy efficiency and the possibility of limiting power consumption by remote control have been retained.
The new systems have been tested for electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with ECE R10 and can therefore also be operated while driving – provided that the power supply is ensured. In addition, the new air conditioning systems have a CI-bus interface as standard, which enables integration into central control units. They will be available from October at all-inclusive prices of 3,147 (28VN) and 3,670 euros (RRP incl. VAT).
The Cool Top Trail series is available in different variants with cooling capacities between 2.0 and 3.6 kilowatts for camping vehicles up to ten meters in length. All models have a heat pump function that ensures pleasant warmth in the vehicle interior even at outside temperatures as low as minus 5 degrees Celsius.
