Gilching – October 28, 2025 – In its new comfort heating mode, the Thermo Top Evo Smart parking heater for passenger cars can heat for up to two hours. It automatically regulates its output as required. Compared to its predecessor, the Thermo Top Evo, the lowest heating level has been reduced to 1.8 kW. This makes it pleasantly quiet and very efficient in terms of fuel and electricity consumption. This saves costs and emissions. Diesel and gasoline as well as modern biofuels, including HVO and E85, can be used with the same performance.

In addition, the modernized parking heater works with a new coolant pump, whose service life has been doubled compared to its predecessor. For optimized device safety, the new heater automatically checks the functionality of the pump via a new interface every time it is started. If the device is to heat at high altitudes, an optional “Altitude Kit” guarantees use at heights of up to 3,000 meters. For extra quiet operation, the “Silent Kit” with particularly powerful silencers is also available as an option.

The Thermo Top Evo Smart automatically detects the type of communication interface to the vehicle and scores points with a universally compatible car wiring harness. This standardizes installation and saves time in the workshop. The interface to the new Webasto diagnostic system is also standardized. The heater communicates flexibly via analog, Webasto controls, LIN, or CI bus, depending on the existing vehicle environment. Various control elements are available, including compact remote controls and the location-independent ThermoConnect app.

The new parking heater is not only protected against cyber attacks for initial installation, but also for retrofitting, and is certified in accordance with ISO 21434. It is available now with an extended warranty from two to three years.

The heater provides up to 5 kW of heat and is therefore suitable for a wide range of vehicles, including larger passenger car models and camper vans. Webasto is constantly developing new, tailor-made installation kits for models from all vehicle manufacturers, enabling the approximately 1,000 certified installation partners in Germany to retrofit the devices quickly and safely into vehicles.

Thermo Top Evo Smart is a so-called water-based parking heater, as it heats the coolant circuit in the vehicle. It then transfers the heat to the air via a heat exchanger, which enters the vehicle through the existing air vents in the dashboard. The windshield defrosts and the interior is dehumidified and heated.
