Stockdorf – October 14, 2025 – Given the ongoing challenging market environment, automotive supplier Webasto is simplifying its organizational structure and implementing further personnel adjustments as part of its ongoing restructuring efforts. “The shifts in the automotive market demand a leaner, more cost-efficient organization with reduced complexity and faster decision-making processes. This is the only way we can remain competitive,” said Joerg Buchheim, CEO of Webasto SE.

The reorganization will affect an additional 300 positions in Germany, primarily at the company’s sites in Stockdorf and Gilching. The focus is on leadership roles within administrative departments. Management and employee representatives reached this agreement following intensive and constructive discussions. Employees at the affected locations have been informed about the next steps. The reduction is planned to be completed by the end of the year.

“The personnel changes are a necessary part of our organizational realignment,” Buchheim says. “Although this step is not easy for us, it is essential given the current market developments. It is a decisive move to position Webasto for the future. We will implement these measures thoughtfully and in line with our corporate culture.”

To ensure the reduction of jobs in Germany is handled as responsibly as possible, the management and the company-wide works council have jointly developed a balanced reconciliation of interests and a social plan. A key element of the package of measures is the opportunity for affected employees to transition into a transfer company, which will provide extensive support over a period of up to twelve months to assist with professional reorientation.
