Further strategic strengthening in the field of electronics expertise
Stockdorf/Munich – 2 August 2017 – Effective 1 August 2017, Webasto SE has concluded a further strategic acquisition and has taken over the majority of the employees of CoSyst Control Systems GmbH, which is headquartered in Nuremburg. The approximately 50 employees of the company, which specializes in hardware and software development for the automotive industry, therefore become part of the Webasto Group. The automotive supplier is further strengthening its systems expertise with this renewed expansion of its expertise in the field of electronics.
The importance of electronic components – and consequently the need for development expertise – is clearly growing. “This highly competent team in the field of electronics development constitutes an optimum addition to our global mechatronics expertise,” explained Dr. Holger Engelmann, Chairman of the Management Board of Webasto SE. “Their development expertise combined with industry know-how has convinced us of this,” continued Engelmann. Our new colleagues will bring further expertise in the field of software and hardware engineering to the Webasto Group. This will primarily flow into new product developments for solutions in the field of electromobility.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the acquisition price. Webasto and the parent company of CoSyst, APAG Holding AG which is based in Zurich, Switzerland, have come to this arrangement.
Webasto Group based in Stockdorf near Munich has been a family-owned business ever since the company was founded in 1901.
