Stockdorf/Munich. – With its new bycool air conditioning system Webasto proves once again that it can provide a comfortable climate for camping vehicles all the year round. Powered by the evaporation principle, this air conditioning system is designed to cool when the engine is switched off. As a result there is no need for a compressor, allowing the bycool to get on with its work as quietly as possible. The electricity power consumption ranges from 9.6 to 96 W (in an eight-level setting) and is extremely easy on the battery. And of course there’s nothing to stop you using it on the move. One pleasant side effect of electric power is that it doesn’t use any fuel.

Compact at only 860 x 785 x 240 mm (L x W x H), the bycool Camper can be installed on almost any motorhome roof. The fan and damp filter are contained in the discreet, aerodynamically designed roof unit. Water required by the bycool’s reservoir is piped across a special fleece, together with air drawn from outside. The resulting evaporation cools the air, which is conducted into the vehicle interior through individually adjustable outlet units. Because the air is humidified, the air inside is not dehydrating, unlike many air conditioning systems. The bycool Camper requires minimum maintenance: you only need to change the damp fleece from time to time, which is not expensive and takes no time at all.

All the air conditioning functions, from switching on and off to the infinitely variable fan speed settings, can be conveniently operated using the bycool Camper remote control, which has a range of around 50 metres. And the best thing is, that because it works on radio frequency, it can be used in any direction, so you don’t have to point it at a particular part of the vehicle.
