Optimised working climate
Webasto introduces frontbox for buses

Stockdorf/Munich. – Heat from direct sunlight or cold from frequently opening doors can make life unpleasant for bus drivers at the wheel. The frontbox from Webasto provides a special system for optimising the air conditioning in the driver's compartments of buses.

As a development partner to vehicle manufacturers, Webasto is working all over the world on individual heating and air-conditioning concepts for all types of bus. Working in parallel with the components of the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, the frontbox ensures an ideal working climate in the front of the bus.

The frontbox for city buses, overland buses and coaches can be installed in two versions. As a pure heating unit, it ventilates the front section using either fresh air or circulated air, heating it as it passes through the system. The unit's circulated air intake can also be adjusted. In the extended design, which includes an airconditioning function, the front box can also be linked to the vehicle's existing air-conditioning system. This means that air from outside can be fed into the interior of the vehicle, and can be cooled to a pleasant temperature. The optional fresh air filter guarantees a dust and pollenfree intake of air. Both designs can be operated manually or via electrical servomotors.

Both front box versions offer comfort features and added safety, since the blower's four adjustable settings ensure clear windscreens, and therefore a clearer view of the road.
