Stockdorf/Munich. - The Thermo 50 water heater is Webasto’s response to changing market needs in the commercial vehicles sector. With a heating output of 5.0 kW with 24 V operating voltage, it is ideal for heating small and medium-sized cabs. In temperate climates the water heater can also be used for larger cabs.

Its compact dimensions make the Thermo 50 particularly suitable for modern trucks with small installation areas. It meets the very latest diagnostic re-quirements and is ADR/ TRS compliant.

By preheating the water circuit in the vehicle, the engine is already warm when started. This significantly reduces engine wear and cuts down on emissions. The advantages which this offers in the commercial vehicles sector are even more pronounced than with passenger cars.

The main area of application for the Thermo 50 will be a new heating con-cept, however, in the form of a modular heating system. The engine and cab are heated by separate systems. The water heater is responsible for the coolant circuit and a Webasto Air Top 2000 ST or 3500 ST for inside the cab. This ensures optimum heating performance with minimum fuel consumption, since either only one parking heater or both can be used depending on requirements.
