Stockdorf/Munich. - The declared aim of Webasto’s camping experts is to make motorhomes more comfortable through the use of intelligent solutions. This includes making life easier in the camper and cutting down on hitherto necessary work. For Webasto, a logical step in this direction is to reduce dependence on gas and one day maybe even manage without it altogether. Having succeeded with heating and air conditioning, Webasto is now setting about providing other functions using the vehicle’s own fuel tank. With this new cooker the day we no longer need to carry gas bottles around is coming considerably closer.
Webasto Diesel Cooker X 100
Functionally not unlike a diesel heater, with a comparable ‘inner life’ consisting of burner, fuel pump and heat exchanger, outwardly it resembles a normal domestic cooker. With a two-ring Ceran hob and convenient on/off and heat adjustment knobs, the cooker’s aluminium and stainless steel finish allows it to blend in pleasingly with the existing kitchen layout. The days of open flames in the living area are thus long gone, while the minimal exhaust fumes are discreetly expelled through the side wall or the floor. The cooker might be restrained in its operation, but at 1.8 kW its output is exceptional.
One interesting feature for motorhome travellers who like to drive up into the mountains is the altitude switch, which ensures that the cooker doesn’t give off smoke in the rarefied air of mountainous regions.
