The international Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) has given the Automotive Division Award 2006 to Webasto in the Body Exterior category. The award-winning product involved here was the panorama roof manufactured since 2005 in Schierling. The jury praised as an innovation particularly worthy of mention the composite structure of the roof made from PU-LFI with foam backed high-gloss foil – Class A. In this order of magnitude and complexity the project is one that is unique in the market. Dr. Helmut Leube, member of the Management Board (left) and project manager Wolfgang Wagner accepted the award on 14 July in Düsseldorf.

The Automotive Division Award has been a regular feature for ten years and has since established itself as the sector’s “Oscar”. The categories in which it is given are those of Body Interior, Body Exterior, Powertrain and Electronical Parts as well as Media Presentation (such as for example, product and image brochures), and it honours particularly creative achievements in the use of plastics in vehicle construction.
